The top 5 most geographically concentrated products in terms of CAPEX
Global value chains will most probably evolve post covid crisis. We were curious about which products are most geographically concentrated, in terms of capital expenditure.
The 5 most concentrated products are all mainly produced in Asia, and 4 of them are parts of the electronics industry.
Out of 80 products for which we have more than 50 capital investments since 2016 (we track investments in 482 products), Asia is the first continent by number of investments for 57 products, Americas for 18 products and Europe for 6 products (including a tie position with Asia for R&D centers).
Americas maintain strong positions within food and energy industries, whereas Europe is stronger for paper and wood industries.
Neither Africa nor Oceania rank first in any of those products.
